Scott's Sad Songs: It Feels Good to Cry
our friend Scott made a sad mix for us this week and we’re so excited to share it with you!! take a listen (grab your tissues) and read about his inspiration: "This is a list of songs that, at one point or another since I was 12, have made me cry. Growing up in the suburbs of Portland, Oregon in the 1990s, crying was rarely seen as something okay. The culture was steeped in rigid masculinity. I was lucky to find a small group of friends in my early teens (suburban punks, emo kids, Jack-Mormons, and theatre kids) who pushed back against that narrative. Together, we created space for each other, and music played a huge part in that. It gave me a way to connect on an emotional level in a culture that encouraged emotional detachment." Scott Michaud plays bass in the Dark Folk Punk band, the Bridge City Sinners & runs Flail Records.
